Will this quarterback score the girl or make the biggest fumble of his life?
I Promise You, an all-new unforgettable, new adult, sports romance from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills is available now!
There’s a legend at Waylon University: the first girl you kiss freshman year at the bonfire party is the one you’ll never forget. She’ll crawl under your skin and never leave. She’ll spark a passion so fierce you’ll burn the world down to possess her.
You might even put a ring on it.
As in all things with fate, timing is everything. That kiss can go horribly wrong. She might run in the opposite direction. And boy, did Serena run.
Dillon is Waylon’s hotshot quarterback with something to prove. All he wants is to graduate and make it to the NFL. What he doesn’t need is to finally meet the mystery girl he kissed at the bonfire freshman year. Isn’t it enough that she’s haunted his dreams for more than a thousand nights?
Fate laughs in his face when he runs into the quirky girl at the Piggly Wiggly. Surrounded by his entourage, he’s got all the Oreos in his cart; she gets revenge by buying every six-pack of his favorite beer.
Obviously, that legend is a curse. She’s not his type and hates him. Worst of all, how can she not remember him when she left a Serena-shaped hole in his heart for the past three years?
So why can’t he stop trying to win her?

Excerpt:
I’m a huge fan of sports romances and I’ve previously only read a few from Ilsa Madden-Mills and I have to say I haven’t read the first book in this series but I really did love I Promise You.
The whole premise of there being a legend about a girl you kiss at the freshmen year bonfire party was really interesting. And I have to say that the first chapter started off completely different to what I was expecting but in a good way, I love it when books surprise me and I end up being wrong about things I think are going to happen.
Dillon wasn’t your typical conceited sports hero, he showed really deep emotions along with his deep insecurities which I really loved. I liked reading about his insecurities because it made him feel more real and helped me connect with him as a character.
Serena struggled with grief and struggled with responsibilities that were pilling up and starting to smother her. She had been burned in the past by someone she trusted which made her start putting walls up to protect her heart. I really felt for her throughout the whole story.
When Dillon and Serena reconnect 3 years after their first kiss, they don’t get off on the right foot and have their differences. Dillon seemed to be carefree while Serena was struggling with all of her responsibilities. But as you continue reading you start seeing how well they both compliment each other. I really loved reading their witty banter and touching moments. Of course there is a little bit of angst thrown in there but it makes for a great read.
I loved Serena’s family, her grandma was hilarious and there is one scene that made me fall in love with her. They always had each others backs and while Dillion struggles with his own biological family, he has another family with his teammates that was so great to read about.
Overall, this is a great NA romance about two people who have been hurt in the past but find something real with each other that is worth the risk. I loved Serena and Dillons love story, it was a great read!
