Review
4 stars.
This is my first book from Terri E. Laine and I was delightfully surprised when I read it. I really like this book. Chasing Butterflies tells an emotional story second chance love story with dark edges. I don’t want to give the plot away so I will just tell you what I loved about the story. I loved the teenager version of Kelley. He was so sweet towards Lenora even though he can be cocky sometimes. He is a victim of things in his life but he doesn’t let that stop him. I don’t stop loving his character when he grows into a man, although I question some of the choices he made along the way. Once he finds Lenora and falls in love he knows that she’s it for him. Lenora is a tough heroine. She’s sweet but she has so much fight in her. She’s trapped living a live that she hates and never wanted to live. When she meets Kelley she finally feels like herself with him and she feels the butterflies that her mum always used to tell her about. This story isn’t all cute romance, Terri has written about some sensitive subjects that feel so real that I could feel all the emotions that the character was reading. This book takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. You’ll laugh, cry and you will end up loving it. This story was so realistic and the author did an amazing job making you feel it all along with the characters. Kelley and Lenora’s love for each other was so cute and amazing even after what happens. It wasn’t just the main characters that I loved. I loved the secondary characters too and i’m hoping we’ll be getting their stories soon. Overall this book was enjoyable and I would recommend it if you love second chance romances. This definitely won’t be my last book by Terri E. Laine.
