4 Stars for Goalie.

I’ve read all of the Texas Mutiny series leading up to this book but they both didn’t prepare me for this. This book was so real and something that I haven’t read before, it was different.

We meet Santos and Mariana in Groupie and we briefly saw that their marriage was falling apart. Goalie explores the aftermath of Santos’ being unfaithful and how the couple can overcome his betrayal. This book isn’t about to take you on an easy journey where everyone is forgiven simply. This story is a long and easy road where both Santos and Mariana have a lot of work to do to repair their marriage and fight for their love together.

This book also explores the reasons Santos did what he did. The story explores his background and gives an understanding of his actions. I have, to be honest when I saw that this book was about a hero that had cheated I was hesitant because I don’t like reading books that include cheating but this book was so different to anything I have ever read. It really gives you an insight into what marriage is about and how both parties can fight and work for what they want in the future as they continue to love each other.

You could really feel both characters pain throughout the story, and end up falling in love with both of them even though you might have wanted to hate Santos for what he did. This book was written really well and gave a really deep and emotional story its time to shine.
