I’ve been waiting for BJ’s story and it did not disappoint! 

What a journey these two go on. Winter is so kind and lovely even if she feels like a broken soul after never having anyone in her corner her entire life. 

Randall Ballistic Jr, known as BJ, is always positive and caring and has a lightness about him when he’s with Winter. He’s also so thoughtful to everyone he loves. 

These two literally run into each other and while Winter tries to ignore BJ and cuss him out, he loves it and is immediately interested. He drags her out to skate and she has no idea she’s going to meet a whole group of friends and to be pushed completely out of her comfort zone. 

I love Winter and my heart squeezed for her so often through the book but I loved seeing her journey and how she started healing. She’s a badass on the ice but off the ice she’s insecure about a lot of things. 

After reading the books of BJ’s parent’s, he’s the perfect combo of both Randy and Lilly (I LOVED SEEING RANDY AS A DAD). I loved them in the Pucked series so I was so excited to see how BJ turned out and he’s hilarious but so mature and basically perfect. Their family is the complete opposite of Winter’s and talk through things and find solutions to problems instead of fighting and throwing blame. 

I don’t want to give anything from this story line away but I will say there was the perfect amount of angst, heart and steam while sharing a story about overcoming hardships. It was also hilarious at some moments and I just loved every moment of it. 

I loved this 2nd Gen Pucked series but I just know I’d love it even if I hadn’t read the Pucked series and in love with the parents of these books. 

Helena never disappoints!

Without overthinking my decision, I stomped out of my room and snatched a piece of blank paper from the bag hanging from one of the kitchen chairs. “We need rules.”

         She tiptoed from her bed to the edge of her room and tilted her head out. “I can stay?”

         A growl escaped before I could stop it. “Yes.”

         “You sound thrilled,” she said, her annoyingly upbeat voice making everything worse. She continued leaning on her doorframe, her green tank top bearing the word MOO U on her chest, pointing out she was very much a female.

         And Michael’s little sister.

         “I’m not thrilled.” I narrowed my eyes when she grinned at me, all wide-eyed and happy. It was like she knew the punchline of a joke I wasn’t privy to. “Why are you smiling?”

         “You really are grumpy.” She lifted one slim shoulder in a shrug and adjusted her long blonde hair into a ball on the top of her head. Her walk was more of a glide over to the kitchen chair. She sat and pulled her legs up to her chest, wrapping her arms around her knees. “You want to discuss rules?”

         “Yes.”

         I fumbled around in the side pocket and grabbed a pen, writing RULES in all caps. “No mess, no parties, no friends coming over, no loud music, no hooking up, no girl stuff everywhere.”

         “Wait? Whoa, whoa, whoa.” She held up a hand. She wore three small silver rings on her tiny fingers, and the light hit them just right, drawing my attention. “Settle down there, Jonah. You’re going to burst a vein in your forehead.”

         I ran a hand over my forehead at her comment, smoothing down the lines that always appeared when I frowned—which was often. “I’m fine.”

         “Is this a dictatorship, or am I allowed to offer suggestions?” She tapped her nails on the table, and I hated how I noticed they were purple.

         My left cheek twitched at her insinuation, and I swallowed down my initial reaction to tell her to pack her shit and leave. Clearing my throat, I said, “Well?”

         “Being clean will not be a problem. I will respect your place. I know the season is long and demands a lot of you physically and emotionally, so there won’t be any parties or friends here. I like music and will listen to it at reasonable hours, but you cannot dictate my sex life. If I want to hook up, I will, while remaining considerate of your boundaries.” Her high cheekbones reddened, but that was the only indication she was embarrassed saying that.

         I clenched my jaw, imagining a fling discovering she lived with a guy on the team. If he shared that with his friends, people would show up here. Hockey was life on campus, and crazed fans came in every size, shape, and gender. Everyone wanted a piece of you, and once they got it, they left. “You don’t tell anyone you live with me. Not a person.”

         “Deal. I’ll make sure all my hook-ups have no idea a hockey legend sleeps on the other side of the wall.” She grinned and jutted her jaw toward the paper. “Write the rules down, you ray of sunshine.”

Review: 

4 STARS! 

I loved this book! This is the first book I’ve read from Jaqueline Snowe and it won’t be the last! 

Jonah (or JD) is a hockey player on the Moo U hockey team who desperately needs a roommate to cover the rent and Ryann is looking for a new place to live as she needs to get out of her dorm at Moo U to escape the drama without having to rely on her brother, a senior hockey player on the Moo U team. 

Through a bit of confusion, Jonah and Ryann end up living together and while it isn’t ideal for either of them at first they agree to continue to live together but make a set of rules they both have to follow to ensure living together goes smoothly. 

Of course one of the rules is that nothing will happen between them because Jonah needs to focus on hockey to keep his scholarship and help his Dad out with money when he can and Ryann promised to never date another hockey player teammate of her brothers after high highmschool relationship ended in disaster and she doesn’t want to make that mistake again when her brother is the only family she has left. 

I LOVED Ryann and Jonah together. Neither of them are prepared for their chemistry to go off the charts. Jonah who is closed off to everyone has started opening up to Ryann and Ryann is letting her walls down around a hockey player which she swore she would never do. They both understand each other so well and completely listen to each other. It’s not long until they can’t resist the fire burning between them and they risk everything to be together.

I couldn’t put the book down once they gave into each other, their chemistry flew off the pages and I just wanted to continue reading until they found a way to be together without jeopardising everything else in their lives that they had worked for and the people that they loved. 

Both Ryann and Jonah have gone through so much and they are both perfect for each other in a way that shows that they were meant to be. They are so sweet together and you can tell they genuinely care about each other and those that they love. 

I loved reading their story as it was like watching two people become best friends and then those best friends falling in love with each other. 

I would highly recommend checking this book out if you’re looking for a super sweet romance.

I flip on a lamp and then lean against the edge of the desk. “Do you want something to drink? I’ve got beer and Gatorade.”

Finally having her admit out loud that she wants me is a boost, but I’ve got a sense of Kaitlyn. If we fool around tonight without talking, we’ll be in the same place. She’ll walk out of here pretending it was nothing.

I grab two beers and offer her one. “If you could have a superpower, what would you choose?”

“A superpower?” A smile splits her lips.

“It was the first question that came to mind.” Probably because I’m using my super restraint to keep my dick from jumping up and slapping me for stopping to make idle conversation. “If you want me to take this off, you have to answer.”

“An answer for an article of clothing?”

I nod and she steps forward and takes the beer from me.

“I’d want to fly.”

“Fly?” I can’t help but chuckle at a response I wasn’t expecting. “No laser beam eyes to destroy your enemies?”

“Less effort and not as messy to just fly far away.”

I open the beer and take a drink before setting it on the desk and pull off my sweatshirt, then run a hand through my hair as I toss the balled-up fabric at her.

She easily catches it. “If I ask you a question, do I have to take something off?”

“Up to you.”

“Hmm.”

“I’ll give you a freebie.” Moving to the bed, I sit and motion with my head for her to do the same. 

“I’d choose telepathy. Imagine how straightforward everything would be if we all knew exactly what other people were thinking.”

Review: 

4 stars! 

I loved Slapshot! This was my first book by Rebecca Jenshak and I don’t believe it will be my last. 

Kaitlyn is the new transfer at Moo U and has just been cut off by her rich and famous ex NHL playing father which is how she finds herself as the equipment manager of the Moo U Hockey team where she meets Lex. 

Lex has always kept his focus solely on hockey.. that is until Kaitlyn shows up and suddenly hockey isn’t the only thing he’s thinking about anymore. He has one problem though, Kaitlyn doesn’t want anything to do with the hockey players when she is not working. 

Cue Lex working to bring her walls down and let him in. He is so sweet and you can’t help but fall in love with him as he works to support and love Lex though their hardships. 

If you’ve read Heartland by Sarina Bowen you would have met Kaitlyn before and perhaps hated her. Rebecca Jenshak has done a great job of completely changed how I see Kaitlyn and made me relate and love her as you watch her mature throughout her story. On the outside she may seem like a spoilt rich girl but when you really get to know her you find out she’s super sweet and just scared of getting hurt. 

I loved Lex and Kaitlyn they were so cute together and perfect for one another. 

Rebecca Jenshak has written a sweet, sexy and really entertaining story with pretty low angst that I would highly recommend if you love sports romance or anyone who loves new adult college romances. This is totally the feel good romance that you need right now.
