When I heard there was a new hockey romance from Sarina Bowen, I was ready to sign up straight away! This is the start of a new series but featured some the Brooklyn men too, which I loved. 

We meet Hudson Newgate who feels like he’s always the “new guy” in his team after he’s constantly traded and never able to settle down. He’s so ready to settle down and get over his fear of being moved again and unable to have any roots. He’s hoping that Brooklyn will be the place it finally is able to happen. 

Enter Gavin, a single dad and widower who just moved to Brooklyn for a job with the Brooklyn hockey team as an athletic trainer, with his daughter Jordyn and his sister. He doesn’t really have any idea about hockey, which is how he ends up in a bar talking to Hudson with no idea who he actually is. They end up starting to go home with each other until they realise they live in the same building and will be working together… then things get a little more complicated as they realise they can’t resist each other. 

Hudson and Gavin can’t resist each other in the long run and with the help of Jordyn and Gavin’s meddling sister. Once they finally get together, they are perfect for each other. They’re adorable and have great chemistry but their lives are both complicated with roadblocks stopping them from completely being together. Gavin is still healing from being a widow while dealing with his monster  in law, while Hudson is always scared he’ll be moved at the drop of a hat while dealing with his father being his agent and holding things over him. 

Sarina perfectly writes children and I loved Jordyn. Everything is executed very well and I really liked Hudson and Gavin together. Both backstories were written well and I liked how the story ended with them both working out their problems to finally be together. 

I highly recommend this one if you love mm ice hockey romance, it’s super cute and a little emotional!
